Dr Antony Taylor

Dr Antony Taylor was born and raised in Auckland and has been a GP at Westview Medical Centre for over 20 years.

Antony is vocationally registered, holds a Diploma in Sports Medicine and Accident and Medical and is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. His work interest includes orthopaedics, minor surgical procedures, joint injections and sports medicine.

In his spare time, Antony loves to travel overseas, he loves to ride his bike and recently purchased a Harley Davidson to do some extensive riding over in the USA.

Dr Brooke Clarkson

Dr Brooke Clarkson was born and raised in Auckland, before travelling overseas to do a gap year in the UK where she spent time travelling over Europe.

Brooke then moved to Newcastle in Australia to complete her university studies and ended up marrying a Hamiltonian which brought her back to New Zealand to complete her GP training.

Brooke holds a certificate in Women’s Health 2020, Certificate in Dermatoscopy and Medical and Surgical Management of Skin Cancer 2022. Brooke is currently working towards her Fellowship in General Practice. Her special interests include Women’s health, Skin cancers and minor surgeries.

Outside of work, Brooke enjoys spending time with her son Lachie, visiting family in Hamilton, eating delicious food and hoping to enjoy some camping this Summer.

Dr David Matson

Dr David Matson is originally from Cork in Ireland and did his Medical and General Practice training in Ireland. Dave graduated from the University College Cork in 1995, and has been a GP since 1999. Dave holds a Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Medicine of the Elderly, Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine and Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine.

Dave has a special interest in Men’s Health and Diabetes. He moved to New Zealand with his kiwi wife and 3 children in 2017.

Outside of medicine, Dave enjoys tennis, running and football.

Dr Douglas Horne

Dr Douglas Horne was born in Scotland and grew up in South Africa till moving to West Auckland. Douglas graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2000, is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and has a diploma in Paediatrics.

Douglas spent 3 years in Edinburgh doing older adults health and rehabilitation. His special interests are in Older Adults Health and rehabilitation medicine.

In his spare time, Douglas enjoys playing golf, touch rugby and indoor rowing.

Dr Julie Curry

Dr Julie Curry was born and raised in Auckland and has been a GP at Westview Medical Centre for over 10 years. Julie holds a Bachelors Degree in Education & Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Psychiatry and Behavioural Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Julie enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly Women’s Health and Mental Health.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family.

Dr Lina Yangot

Dr Lina Yangot is originally from the Cordillera Region in Northern Philippines. Lina graduated from Saint Louis University in Philippines with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree as well as Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (aka Laboratory Sciences).

Lina is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Travel Medicine from Otago University.

Lina has been practising as a GP in New Zealand since 2014, including rural practice. Her special interests are anything Primary Care, especially equitable healthcare delivery and disease prevention. She loves being a GP as there is no other speciality in medicine that assists patients in their health journey…from womb to tomb. The variety of conditions she sees on a daily basis makes each day unique.

Lina speaks both English and Filipino (Ilocano, Kankana-ey). In her spare time Lina enjoys catching up with friends and family.

Dr Sophie Robinson

Originally from Devon in Southwest England, Dr Sophie Robinson trained at Bristol Medical School, followed by GP training in London and is currently working towards her Fellowship.
In 2018, Sophie made the move to New Zealand, initially planning a year-long stay. However, she has loved it so much she has stayed.

Sophie holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Medicine, which reflects her keen interest in musculoskeletal cases. She also enjoys all aspects of General Practice.

Outside the clinic, Sophie enjoys open water swimming, cycling, running, and CrossFit, as well as camping and exploring New Zealand with her partner.

Dr Vivek Laud

Dr Vivek Laud has been a GP in Glen Eden for 35 years. Vivek is vocationally registered and a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. He loves all aspects of life as a GP, but maybe not so much on women’s health – he leaves this to our lovely female GPs and nurses. In his earlier career he delivered babies in West Auckland and loves the little ones in our practice.

In his spare time Vivek loves to travel and spend time with his family and grandchildren.

Dr Abigail Best

Dr Abigail Best is originally from Liverpool, UK and moved to New Zealand in 2018.

Abby holds a Diploma in Paediatric Medicine, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and a Masters in the Biology and Control of Parasites and Vectors. Abby is currently working towards her Fellowship in General Practice.

Abby has an interest in global health and has worked and volunteered in India, Greece, Geneva, Guinea Bissau and the UK.

Abby speaks both English and French and in her spare time she enjoys yoga, rock climbing and exploring New Zealand.
